March 2014

SFI co-founders Ron Haak & Darlene Markovich met with Tashi Dendup, Program Officer of Bhutan’s National TB Control Program, and Chewang Rinzin at the Ministry of Health in Thimpu, Bhutan, to discuss potential areas that SFI might provide assistance. As a consequence of the meeting, the Bhutan Ministry of Health formally requested three different areas of collaboration. One of the items may be satisfied via funding from the Global Fund to Fight AID, TB and Malaria. Another, the construction of a 50 bed facility for multidrug resistant (MDR) TB patients, will require SFI to raise significant funds.
